Big & Tall

At certain sites, covering large spans without any internal columns is a very tall order.

One example, the mega-tall dome at the Caserones copper mine in Chile. At 94m (308 ft) tall, it feels right at home among the peaks of the Andes. The dome is so tall that if it sprung from her island, Lady Liberty couldn't touch the apex with her torch!

The dome was designed so that it would shed incredible amounts of snow. At 4000 meters (13,000 feet) above sea level, ground snow exceeds 8kPa (165 psf).
