Assembly Halls + Education

Geometrica helps architects realize their most moving inspirations.

The discipline of order and balance and the freedom of form that our creations bring to an open space inspires students and congregations alike.

Community Gatherings

The Hulhumale Mosque in the Maldives is recognized as one of the most beautiful places of worship in South Asia. Likewise, San Juan Bautista in Monterrey, Mexico has been referred to as a "soul-stirring structure." The exquisite architectural elements add to the worship experience.

Public Resources

Geometrica domes appear the world over in assembly and education settings. For instance, The curtain wall of the Queretaro Library invites readers into the natural environment, as does the Children's Museum with it's rooftop view of the sun and stars.

Stage and Screen

Freedomes are ideal structural solutions in that domes can be envisioned and designed unfettered by the constraints of traditional buildings. Geometrica has unleashed complete design freedom in the Freedome®. These magnificent covers provide a breathtaking backdrop for stage and screen. Music concerts, operas, phllharmonic, orchestra, dramatic plays, film screenings and comedy routines delight crowds under splendid roofs designed to add ambiance.

Entire big screen theaters have opted to sell tickets and seating in round domes with brilliant cladding. These community landmarks certainly draw crowds — for the entertainment, but also for the novel setting!

Geometrica helps religious communities design and realize soul-stirring assembly spaces

Since ancient times religious architecture relies on soaring geometries to inspire worship and spiritual fellowship. Geometrica can help in this goal. Doing away with internal columns, a Freedome® roof structure can house even the largest congregations under a single unifying worship space. An infinite variety of structural shapes and patterns help architects and design professionals create distinctive and unique houses of prayer.

Geometrica's façade for the Museo Soumaya realizes a daring and seemingly impossible geometry. The structure soars and twists inspiring visitors to do the same as they explore the art and the setting.

Geometrica structures are framed with triangles, the strongest and most stable structural form. The resulting buildings can curve and span long distances, creating accessible spaces suitable for many and varying exhibits.

Aviaries

Large volume Freedome® aviaries can house natural environments with plants and trees. Birds roam, sing and fly while visitors listen, observe and walk by.

The Zacatecas Aviary provides a fun and natural habitat for humans and birds to enjoy!

Aviaries provide a protected, virtually natural habitat. It showcases the birds to the public (an ornithologist's dream) while protecting them from predators. The primary requirement is to enclose a large volume of space without blocking out natural elements such as sunlight, wind or rain. The structure must withstand the weather and be spacious enough to allow free flight and natural bird behavior.

Geometrica structures are computer-designed to meet the shape and size requirements of the application, it is easy to customize an aviary, terrarium or other habitat to the space available. Structural tubes may be made of galvanized steel or aluminum. They are manufactured and quality inspected in Geometrica’s ISO-certified facilities. This ensures a long, trouble-free lifetime for the enjoyment of both us, humans, and our feathered friends.

Whether you are planning a covered swimming pool, an arena, a velodrome or a stadium, a Geometrica Freedome is the right solution. Domes can take any shape in plan and elevation: rectangular, oval, or even free-form. The structure may be made of galvanized steel or aluminum, and finished with a baked-on powder coat color.

All-aluminum Freedomes provide the ultimate in corrosion resistance, making them perfect for enclosed swimming pools. They never need maintenance, even in the most aggressive pool-chlorine environments.

The shape of the structure can follow the shape of the venue, eliminating wasted space. And the lack of interior columns provides great views for everyone present – including the athletes and audiences.

Imagine the possibilities: indoor tennis, racketball, soccer practice, or even indoor bicycling. Whether an annual rodeo competition or an enormous family reunion, community centers can and should be affordable, durable and designed as multi-use facilities.

Geometrica Freedomes can span up to 300m — and they support cantilevers of 50m or more. Strength is built into the structure, so our Freedomes easily support hundreds of tons of catwalks, scoreboards, sound and lighting equipment, curtains and rigging, and more. Geometrica domes and space frames have been designed to carry hundreds of tons of equipment loads.

Complex spaces can be enclosed under a single Freedome, maintaining visual and physical continuity while allowing natural light to enter in a variety of patterns.

Barrel vaults and dome covers can span an impressive 300m to accommodate the most robust activity.

Geometrica has built covers and space frames for airports, train and bus terminals, transit stations, parking lots, car dealerships, airplane hangars and border facilities. See our article "On the Go... With Space Frames, Vaults and Domes" to learn more about our efficient applications for transportation.
