Geometrica submitted their entry based upon the use of a wiki to implement a ISO9001 Quality Management System, and further develop it into a full knowledge management system. The company now also uses its wiki for information sharing with clients, suppliers and potential clients. Geometrica’s entry has garnered them a finalist position in the Small Company Category (100 employees or less). Wikis are a new tool for effective collaboration in document creation and editing. Geometrica has found that using a wiki enables the experts in the organization – the wiki users – to read, edit and maintain documents right at points of use.
Geometrica, a Cypress, Texas based organization, provides metal domes for architectural use and to cover large stockpiles of bulk materials. Domes are the most efficient solution for long-span covers. Geometria’s galvanized-steel or aluminum structures make domes even more attractive because they are maintenance-free and can be assembled by local crews without any special equipment. Where uncovered piles are already in service, these domes may be installed right over the operating piles with little or no downtime.
